West Chicago Sharks Swim Team

Swimming competitively for West Chicago and the surrounding communities since1956.

Have you ever wanted to say:

“I Swim with the Sharks”

…………….and not only live to tell about it, but

………ENJOY IT?

Who are the West Chicago Sharks?

The West Chicago Sharks is an age group competitive swim team not associated with any YMCA, park district or school taxing authority, although we operate out of the West Chicago High School swimming pool. Our objective is to provide fair competition with the intent to stimulate interest for all swimmers on all levels, with guidance and sound coaching. We believe that through competitive swimming children will experience the hard work, dedication and discipline needed not only for success in a sport, but in everyday life as well.

Who can be a Shark?

The short answer is anyone. Our Team, which typically ranges from 110 to 150 swimmers a season, has members whose ability ranges from beginning swimmers to nationally-ranked elite athletes. We divide our Team into seven different practice groups based on a combination of age and skill level. This ensures that your child will always be grouped in practice with teammates of the same skill level. This is critical for both safety and proper development of your child.  Click HERE to check out our various practice groups.

REGISTRATION IS EASY!!  Just show up for practice and register while your swimmer goes to his/her first practice.  On Monday and Tuesday, October 5-6 we will have registration tables set up in the pool lobby from 5:00-7:00 pm.  Registration will be held at the West Chicago Pool (West Chicago High School 326 Joliet St. West Chicago, IL 60185 – Entrance E).
