8 & under age group

Swimmers in this group are aged six to eight and they must be legal in three of the four competitive strokes.

Our 8 & under group members will practice the four competitive strokes to perfect  technique.  While time improvement is a goal of the group, the main focus will be in technique development, racing skills, and encouraging good workout habits.

9-10 age group

For swimmers aged 9 or 10 who are legal in three of the four strokes.  They must be able to show mastery of competitive starts and turns.

The 9-10’s will further their skill mastery of the four competitive strokes, starts, and turns.  Racing skills and endurance training will also be integrated into practices sessions as a preparation for advancement to the Junior Team.

Junior Team

For swimmers 11 and older who are legal in all four strokes, starts, and turns.

The Juniors will begin their first exposure to workout training.  Time improvement, stroke development, racing skills, and training habits will be emphasized.  Our WCS strength training program is recommended to introduce the swimmers to additional ways to improve themselves.

Senior-B Team

The swimmers in this group must be able to complete a test set of 20x100’s freestyle on 1:40.

Senior-B practices are designed to introduce the swimmer to a more intensive training experience.  Skill development and over-distance training are emphasized and strength training is recommended.

Senior-A Team

The swimmers in this group must be able to complete a test set of 20x100’s freestyle on 1:25.

The practices for the Senior-A Team will be based on over-distance endurance training and skill development.  A high level of attendance is required to maintain conditioning.  Refinement of all skills will be emphasized to increase efficiency in practices and competition.  Strength training is required as part of the overall conditioning program.
